Russell Aviation Leasing, Inc. a subsidiary of Rectrix Commercial Aviation Services has taken delivery of the first Bombardier Challenger 605, which entered service late last month. The new aircraft will be leased to Bombardier Aircraft Company for use as a demonstrator through the end of 2007. The Rectrix companies currently own a Bombardier Challenger 604 and are in the process of purchasing a Challenger 300.
“We are excited to celebrate this milestone and look forward to demonstrating the Challenger 605 jet to our prospects and customers worldwide,” said Jahid Fazal-Karim, senior vice-president, sales, Bombardier Business Aircraft.
The Challenger 605 jet operates at a maximum cruise speed of Mach 0.82 (870 km/h), and offers an increased payload capacity of 200 pounds, with seating for up to 12 passengers.
Rectrix through its affiliates and subsidiaries provides aircraft management and aircraft charter in addition to operating a Fixed Base Operation in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Rectrix is currently constructing a second private aviation facility in Sarasota, Florida, where it pioneered a new and innovative concept in aircraft hangar ownership known as Hangarminiums(sm). This concept provides private and corporate aircraft owners the ability to own a world class private hangar, while enjoying access to all of the amenities offered by a premiere Fixed Base Operator.
